What does rising
damp look
like?
-
Sometimes it is possible to see salt crystals on
the affected wall.
-
Often the wall will display a slight watermark.
Why treat it?
-
The moisture in the wall will contain salt
contaminants. Once the moisture evaporates the salts will be
left in the structure of the wall and the finish plaster. The
salts effect the adhesiveness of the finish plaster which will
often sound hollow when tapped. The finish plaster loses its
bonding with the brickwork or concrete and will eventually fall off the
wall.
-
Rising damp will also reduce the value of your
property.
How long is the
wait for a survey?
-
We endeavour to get one of our surveyors to you
between 3 to 7 days.
How long is the wait before work
commences?
-
After our surveyor has visited your property and
type of treatment has been decided, the waiting period for work
to commence is between 4 to 10 days.
Can you give me a price over the phone on the likely costs
involved?
-
Unfortunately not, all properties and problems
are unique and until a survey has been carried out a price
cannot be given.
Do you provide
free surveys and quotes?
-
All our surveys and quotes are free of charge.
How can I arrange for an
inspection of my property?
-
To arrange for a free survey please go to the
contact page for information on
how to get in touch with us.
Attention:
-
If the rising damp is not
treated, in the time health problems may occur due to the
dampness creating bacterial spores which are released into the
air.
